    The slider allows having unlimited amount of images with their titles and descriptions. The slider uses autogenerated shortcodes making it easier for the users to add it to the custom location.


Software Foundation is a non-profit organisation which aims to provide support and awareness in the use and development of software in Fiji. The foundation was established in September 2010 and registered as a non-profit organisation in April 2012. The major focus of Software Foundation is 1. Research and Innovation and 2. Digital Community Awareness.

Software Foundation has recently been mostly focused in research activities. It features Artificial Intelligence and Cybernetics Research Group which collaborates with universities in Fiji and abroad and produces cutting edge research in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning which are published in international journals and conferences. The research also focuses in the areas of Climate Change such as Tropical Cyclones, and technologies for persons with disabilities such as mobile computer vision for the visually impaired.

Objectives of the Software Foundation

  1. Build a network of local and international experts in areas of ICT.
  2. Provide training and support and increase awareness for free-open source software (FOSS).
  3. Provide training and ICT support to the local community including the elderly and disabled.
  4. Motivate inter-disciplinary research and innovation for Pacific island countries.


Membership is free and can be registered through online portal (http://softwarefoundationfiji.org/portal). Note that members will be part of sfmembers( at) softwarefoundationfiji.org email discussion list after registration.

Target Beneficiaries

  1. Students, school teachers, university academics, technicians and engineers, experts from the industry, youths, women, disadvantaged people, rural communities, people living with disabilities and the general public.
  2. Membership will be open internationally, particularly to South Pacific Nations, Australia, and New Zealand.


The plant represents the growth of knowledge and the three circles represent people from different backgrounds and works of life coming together for a noble cause.
